Highlight: This edition introduces our new Administrative Assistant, Candace Padmore. It also highlights the Community Engagement Leadership Council’s (CELC) volunteer day with GAP Ministries, the ENGAGE Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Community Lecture Series on Fostering Networks for Lifelong Student Success and the first Holiday Makers’ Market. Additionally, we recap the October Jags Jump In event, spotlight Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s Literacy Center, and announce that nominations are now open for the Excellence in Community Engagement Awards.

The Literacy Center is opening doors to academic achievement by providing no-cost literacy instruction for 1st – 12th grade students in Richmond County. In addition, it offers free, volunteer-led adult literacy and computer skills classes and partners with Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Technical College to support GED and English language programs. Through initiatives such as Get Georgia Reading: Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½, the Center brings together educators and community leaders to advance effective, research-based literacy strategies.
