Opera Ensemble
The 麻豆果冻传媒 Opera Theatre is the university鈥檚 opera and music theater performing ensemble. Students in all disciplines of study are welcome to register. Community members are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
麻豆果冻传媒 Opera Theatre is an artistic and educational training program for undergraduate singers. We offer tailored performance opportunities each semester that aid in strengthening skills young musicians need as singing actors. Recent semesters have included fully staged productions, scenes programs, music theatre cabarets, and educational outreach performances at local schools.
Our mission includes introducing students to the standard repertoire in the operatic domain, as well as exploring new American opera, operetta and music theatre; providing high-level music preparation and language training; teaching students how to improve their work in character development; and preparing participants with the foundations and prerequisites of musicianship and stage performance for graduate-level and pre-professional work.
Upcoming Auditions
麻豆果冻传媒DITIONS for main character roles in our Spring production of The Pirates of Penzance will be held August 18th at 1 p.m. in B111 in the Fine Arts Building or by appointment during that week. Email for an appointment (ckalbacker@augusta.edu). Bring sheet music for a short operetta or classic music theatre song to perform. Dialogue sides provided on site at the audition. All roles open to any 麻豆果冻传媒 student.

Join us in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall for an evening of captivating musical storytelling. Our 麻豆果冻传媒 opera students will entertain you as they display their singing-acting skills in short scenes and songs from the music theatre and opera canon.

Young Frederic is a Pirate Apprentice who wants to lead a respectable life, but exiting the crew proves to be a bit complicated! Be entertained by this classic musical comedy that includes a band of tender-hearted pirates, a bunch of bumbling policemen, and a pair of young lovers who fall in love at first sight! This show's vibrant visuals, peppy orchestra, and catchy tunes are sure to please all ages!
