The Section of Plastic Surgery strives to be a premier plastic surgical service at the regional, national and international levels, with excellence in education, patient care and research. Our core missions are providing the best possible clinical care in all aspects of plastic surgery and engaging in and producing high impact clinical and basic science research to advance plastic surgery.

The Plastic Surgery Department at the Medical College of Georgia offers a broad and advanced range of reconstructive and aesthetic services, grounded in academic excellence and patient-centered care. The department specializes in the treatment of complex wounds, abdominal wall reconstruction for hernias, and both oncologic and trauma-related reconstruction, including comprehensive care for breast cancer patients. Expertise also extends to surgical dermatology managing skin cancers and complex lesions with precision and aesthetic consideration. Pediatric plastic surgery services address both congenital and acquired conditions in children. We offer consultation and surgical care for hand and craniofacial patients. In addition to its reconstructive capabilities, the department provides a full spectrum of cosmetic procedures, blending artistry with surgical skill to enhance natural form and function. Through innovation, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration, the department is committed to improving outcomes and restoring confidence for every patient.
